International travel is one of the most wonderful things in the world. Local travel may have good advantages but it is not so beneficial as international travel. I have never made a local travel in my own country and therefore I am not a fan of traveling locally. I have already dedicated some blog posts where I describe benefits of international travel. In this article, I won’t discuss advantages of global traveling. If you are reading this post you must be very interested in international travel. Therefore, let me give you some exact tips on how to start you international travel.
1) YOUR DESTINATION
There are some countries in the world that attract your interest. You have heard many positive things and different facts about these countries. Choose one country which you will visit first. After you have chosen it, you should check its visa requirements. Prepare needed documents for obtaining a visa. Make some immunization injections. You will need to make injections in order to visit some countries.
2) PLAN YOUR BUDGET
The first thing you will need to do before you start your international travel is to plan your budget. Your plan must be very detailed and accurate. Take a notebook and write everything you will need to spend your money on. Determine how much will your ticket cost, your lodging costs, your transportation, and food costs. Remember that it is very important to develop your budget before you start traveling.
3) LEARN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
I do not encourage you to become a fluent speaker in a foreign language. English is spoken everywhere and if you know it you won’t have any language barriers anywhere you travel. However, I think that it is necessary to learn a few words and common sentences in a foreign language. Knowing a few Thai words would be very good if you plan to go Thailand. Local people like when a foreigner knows a few words in their native language. Do not ignore this factor and try to memorize words like “Thanks”, “Please”, “Hello”,”I apologize”, “I love you” etc.
4) LEARN THEIR CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS
Every nation has its own culture, and therefore, every nation has different values. Something that is considered to be “good” in the USA may be “bad” in Korea. Your intentions may be very good but be very careful not to insult someone. Consequently, I suggest you make a deep research on the Internet and learn about mentality, customs, and traditions of people around the world.
International travel is not so sophisticated thing as many people assume it to be. There may be some small inconveniences in the beginning of your trip, but if you are sober enough, you will adapt yourself to a new country and society.
