Do Compound Exercises Increase Testosterone?

      I heard that compound exercises such as bench press, squats, and deadlift increase testosterone. Also, I read somewhere that it is a myth. Experienced bodybuilders, please, clarify this issue for me. Thanks!

      Hello, Abelardo. Testosterone increase due to compound exercise is a common myth among novice bodybuilders.

      In fact, testosterone increases up to 300% after heavy squats, deadlift, and bench press. After 30 minutes, the levels of testosterone return back to normal. A 30 minute spike of testosterone is useless for muscle building. Thus, don’t rely upon compound exercises to build muscles.
