HOW TO BE EVERYTHING BY EMILIE WAPNICK
Finding the right profession or activity is crucial for the happiness of every person in the world. The field of career counseling is in high demand because sometimes it is extremely difficult to choose who you want to be in the future. People with loads of different talents, advantages, inclinations, and hobbies, face another problem. Potentially, these polymaths can be everything and everyone. Emilie Wapnick resolves this dilemma in ‘How to Be Everything: A Guide for Those Who (Still) Don’t Know What They Want to be When They Grow Up’.
This book is not a bestseller and its writer is not a superstar writer. However, I think that this wonderful book deserves more fame and attention. This book isn’t as popular as other mass-appealing books, because polymaths and multipotentialites are very rare. The book is dedicated to people who have a lot of talents, and for this reason, they can’t pick up a single activity as a profession. Usually, when you are not talented and there is a single thing that you are good at, it is easy for you to choose your occupation. Multipotentialites face another problem. In this book, Emilie Wapnick tells about polymaths, multipotentiality, their origins, and signs. She also mentions a lot of famous multipotentialites such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, and many other prominent personalities who were talented in different fields. Finally, the author says that all polymaths should accept their nature and be everything and everyone they want to be. It is said that “Jack of all trades, master of none”, but Emilie Wapnick has an absolutely different opinion. She claims and proves that multipotentialites can become successful in all spheres they engage in.
For me, this book was very unique. I have never read books written on this good topic. I am a multipotentialite myself. I am good at too many different things, and sometimes, I think that I am very different or even weird when I look at people who have chosen a single profession. This book made me feel more confident. It revealed a lot about my polymath nature. Now, I know that I should accept my inclinations and achieve great results in everything I am involved in.
This is a book for multipotentialites. If you feel like you are a polymath, then, this book will be a great read for you. Oppositely, if you are not a polymath and you don’t have any inclinations to multipotentiality, you can still read this book if you are a curious person. This is definitely the best book written on the topic of multipotentialites.
