In my previous article, I have proved that social signals do not matter anyhow in SEO. Nonetheless, this fact should not discourage you from being active on social networks. Apart of SEO, your activity on social networks makes a very positive impact on the success of your online project. Today, people spend much of their free time on social networks. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and other social networks have become send homes for millions of people around the globe. Nowadays, people spend more time in the virtual world. All of you agree that most of our communications are carried out on the Web. Several years ago, when the Internet was not so widely spread, people were more engaged in live communication. The Internet has changed everything.
Finally, we understood that social signals have no value if SEO. In other words, search engines do not count your website’s or blog’s activity on social networks as a ranking factor. Thus, web traffic is crucial for the success of any types of online businesses. When we start talking about web traffic, we will realize that there are a few sources of web traffic. Some of them are search engines (organic traffic), paid advertising and promotions on popular web resources, and of course, social media marketing. No matter how good is your content and SEO, you will need to wait for at least 6 months until you will get some serious volumes of organic web traffic. To be honest, SEO requires a lot of time to start working. You may have already seen loads of websites that receive thousands of unique visitors every day from search engines. I can assure you that none of these popular web resources are new. All of them are at least 1 year old. Therefore, if your project is new, do not fully rely on SEO. Organic traffic does not come overnight. SEO requires a lot of time and patience. For this reason, I can say that social networks are ideal for driving some web traffic to your own blog. Of course, SMM will not bring your tons of web traffic. Anyway, it is a good option when you have no other options.
By being active on social networks, you will drive some web traffic to your blog. Share your posts, publish them in different Facebook groups, and publish your photos on Instagram. These activities will reward you with some good web traffic. Social networks should not be the only sources of web traffic for your online project. Organic traffic is extremely important if you are concerned about monetization. Even though, being active on social networks is not a meaningless thing. Even if it does not make any direct impact on your web resource’s SEO, social networks will drive some traffic to your website.

Today, social networks are more popular than any other web resources. Most of us spend at least an hour every day on Facebook, Instagram, and other popular social networks. This means that branding on social networks gives us truly unlimited opportunities. When you have an access to millions of people worldwide, you can expose your business internationally.

Of course, some of your readers and customers may contact you directly by using a special form or an email on your website. However, it is more convenient for people to contact you through your official Facebook page. All companies have official Facebook pages. PayPal is a famous and popular brand. Nonetheless, it has an official page on Facebook and Twitter. Do you assume that PayPal is present on Facebook to build its brand? PayPal is already a very powerful brand. PayPal stays in touch with their clients through Facebook. Communication with readers and clients is a very strong motivation to be active on social networks.
If you launch a financial online project, you should use social networks in order to contact your readers and customers. Keep in mind that it is more convenient for the people to contact you through social networks. First of all, not all of them visit your web resource on a regular daily basis. At the same time, almost every one of your clients visits Facebook every day. Therefore, people will always use social networks for communicational purposes.
