Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert KiyosakiThere are some very famous and popular books which hype I will never understand. People who overhype these books are not book-connoisseurs. Usually, these are people who read 5 to 10 books during their whole lifetime. They heard something good about a book and decided to join a team of hypers. One of these overhyped books is ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About the Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do not’ by Robert Kiyosaki.

Robert Kiyosaki is the author of several internationally bestselling books which were translated into several foreign languages. He is a keynote international speaker and motivator on the topics of wealth, business, investments, etc. He is one of the pioneer authors and motivators on the above-mentioned themes. Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Parents Teach Their Kids About the Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not’ is a classic book on personal finance and wealth. Robert Kiyosaki tells about his two dads. One of them is supposedly a real dad, and the second one is someone whom he treats like a dad. So one of them was poor, and the second is rich. Each of them was giving Robert different tips and insights on business and life. One of the dad’s tips would supposedly lead to poverty. The second dad was instructing Robert for wealth. This is just a story. Throughout the book, Robert tells about the impact of parents upon their kids. I agree with his opinion. In the book, Robert Kiyosaki shares his knowledge and experience regarding wealth management, personal finances, etc.

I read this book when I was young, maybe 18 years old. The only thing that I remember and still appreciate in the book is: ‘Whenever a poor person earns some money, he immediately spends it to buy himself a toy that will make him happy for a limited time. A rich person will invest his money, and become financially independent.’ This is what I remember and appreciate. This is true. To get rich, you need to invest and create streams of passive income. Otherwise, you will never get rich.

This book is a nice book for a person who has never read books on how to get rich. This is not a WOW book. First, Robert Kiyosaki is talking about the real estate business. Have you ever heard that he has failed several times while dealing with real estate? He also talks about stocks. He has failed trading stock too. This guy is talking about the things that he doesn’t know very well. He might be rich due to the bestselling books he has written. Why these books are international bestsellers? Let me answer this question. It is called ‘the first mover’s advantage’. Robert Kiyosaki was one of the pioneer authors on the topic ‘how to get rich’. He was writing during the days when online life was almost non-existent. He was using only traditional methods of offline marketing.

If you have never read ‘Poor Dad Rich Dad: What the Rich Parents Teach Their Kids About the Money That the Poor and Middle Class Don’t Know’ by Robert Kiyosaki, then, you should readjust to clarify yourself what all the hype is all about. Don’t expect to be illuminated by something miraculous in this book. This is a simple book for those people who are not familiar with these types of works. The success of Robert Kiyosaki is 20 due to his knowledge, experience, skills, and 80% due to the marketing, brand building, and hype.
