WHAT ARE THE BEST ONLINE STORES TO SELL PHYSICAL BOOKS?
In this article, we will talk about selling physical books. I will dedicate an additional article to online resources where you can effectively sell digital books. What happens when we complete reading a new book which we have purchased? This is my question to you because I don’t know what do you and other people do with completed books. If you want my answer I will tell you that the books I have already read are just embellishing my bookshelf. I mean that after I finish reading a book I don’t need it anymore. I have never read the same book twice. Of course, there are some people who enjoy reading their favorite books many times. This kind of people doesn’t need to sell and get rid of their books. Books were written to be read. Therefore, I think that every book should perform its task. It was created to be read and let us help it.
You belong to the group of people who read a book, then never read it again and you want to sell it just because you want to get rid of it or buy a new book. There are many other reasons why you want to sell your book. The first question you ask yourself is: “Where can I promptly sell my book?” Let me give you a detailed answer to your question. I suggest you choose between two options: Amazon or eBay. These websites have tons of real human traffic and you have a great likelihood that your book will be sold. Your success will depend on your book’s popularity and maybe rareness. I have several books written by me and I sell them only on Amazon because I consider it to be the best place for selling physical and digital books. Selling books on Amazon is more effective rather than selling them on eBay. Amazon is the biggest online bookseller in the world. We should not even compare eBay’s book variety with Amazon’s stock. At the same time, Amazon has its own disadvantages. Let me explain it. Firstly, you won’t be able to sell your physical book from your CreateSpace account. As you know CreateSpace is a service that may publish and distribute your own books but CreateSpace does not give a service to sell physical books that are located at your home. That means that if you want to sell your physical book you will need a merchant account on Amazon. There are two types of merchant accounts on Amazon: 1)free account 2) professional account. To open a professional account you will need to pay nearly 35$. This number may not be exact but keep in mind that opening a pro account on Amazon is not free. At the same time, a free merchant account on Amazon won’t let you sell different categories of items and books may be included in these categories. We face a paradox here: selling physical books on Amazon is the most effective but you will need to go through some needless difficulties to be able to sell something on Amazon. As a result, the most pragmatic and practical alternative for you will be eBay. You won’t need to pay anything to list your book on eBay and millions of people will see your item. Amazon is more effective, but eBay is the easiest way to trade your physical books.
There is a number of other websites that also allow you to list your books for sale. If you make researches on Google you will find dozens of them. I don’t recommend them because I have not tried them myself. Such websites do not have such huge traffic as eBay, and consequently, it is still better for you to sell your physical books on eBay. You may simply waste your time selling them on other less popular websites.
